Medical training
The Washington University Comprehensive MS Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital provides training for medical students, residents and fellows in neurology and neurologic diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS). The center also provides training for post-doctoral fellows, laboratory technicians and under graduates in the studies of neurologic diseases.
Other professionals
Training is also provided for physical therapists, dieticians, occupational therapists, spiritual care and other professionals.
Nursing
Nursing students from the Jewish Hospital College of Nursing and Allied Health learn about multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders by caring for clients of the MS Center. By utilizing the opportunities the MS Center provides, the nursing students gain better insight and understanding of client needs. The students not only read about new research and changes in care, they are able to see and participate in the changing being put into practice.
